Carl Buhler, a United States Air Force brigadier general, served as a two-time major command (MAJCOM) director. First in Hawaii at Headquarters Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) as the director of logistics, installations, and mission support. Then, most recently in Virginia at Headquarters Air Combat Command (ACC) as the director of logistics, engineering, and force protection where he drew upon 26-plus years of military experience to oversee ACC's logistics, aircraft maintenance, munitions, transportation, supply, civil engineering, and force protection functions.

A member of the Logistics Officers Association, Carl Buhler also previously served in another executive role as Commander of the Ogden Air Logistics Complex at Hill Air Force Base in Utah. Earlier in his career, Carl Buhler served as a flight commander at bases in South Korea and Germany. He has also deployed in support of the ceasefire phase of Operation Desert Storm, and to Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom. During his career, he has won individual awards and has led units to win organizational awards for excellence in fighter aircraft and munitions maintenance.

He began his military career as a second lieutenant in 1989 upon earning a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics from Valdosta State College. Later, he earned master’s degrees in human relations, national security and strategic studies, and national resource strategy. Buhler is also a graduate of leadership programs such as the Enterprise Leadership Seminar, the LOGTECH Program for Executives in Logistics and Technology, the AFSO21 Executive Leaders Course, and as a Senior Executive Fellow at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. Furthermore, he is a member of various professional organizations, including the Military Officers Association of America, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, and the Air Force Association.
