Carl Jacobson is a recognized force in music technology marketing with 20 years of experience in bringing empowering solutions to music makers and music listeners.
He is currently the Director of Marketing for PreSonus Audio Electronics. He was recently the Vice President of Marketing for Nimbit, a leading direct to fan platform for musicians, for which Carl was instrumental in the acquisition by PreSonus.

In the past, Carl held positons Vice President of Marketing for Cakewalk one of the world’s foremost providers of music software and hardware.worked for the A&M and New World record labels, and launched the Internet’s first online radio broadcasting network, Soundsbig.com in the 1990s.
Carl’s work with Cakewalk contributed to some of the most successful co-marketing and business development campaigns in music tech marketing, including the launch of Gibson’s Digital Les Paul; Microsoft’s Windows XP Professional X64 Edition, for which he produced Revolutionizing Audio Production, a video premiered on Microsoft’s home page; and numerous Intel Core chipsets. In 2009, Carl spoke to a 5000+ crowd during Intel’s Software & Service Division IDF keynote in recognition of their most successful co-marketing relationship with a software provider.
In his career, Carl has helped numerous legends in the creation of their music. He feels blessed to have assisted Ray Charles to become self-sufficient in music composition and recording on a computer, and in 2005 to be asked to organize the jam session held after Mr. Charles’ funeral featuring Stevie Wonder. In 1997 Carl produced the first ever live jam session over the Internet with John Entwistle of the Who, and helped Jon Anderson of Yes to produce Earth Mother Earth, the first commercial CD ever recorded, mixed, and mastered entirely on a PC. Other artists of note that Carl has worked with include Public Enemy, Slipknot, and George Clinton. He has also helped Ty Pennington and Extreme Makeover Home Edition benefit at risk youth and disabled musicians on multiple episodes.
Carl is a regular public speaker on music technology and business with engagements including Belfast Music Week with the MTV EMA’s, SXSW, CMJ Music Marathon, ASCAP I Create Music Expo, Audio Engineering Society (AES) Convention, National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), and Boston University’s Entrepreneurial Boot Camp, and the HP Workstation Sales & Marketing Division annual conference.
