Carl Malmgren

Carl Malmgren is in demand internationally as a lyric tenor and works all over Europe.

Trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London under renowned British tenor Adrian Thompson and soprano Kathryn Harries, his particular affinity for acting and the comic parts in operas by Rossini, Mozart and Smetana has earned him a good reputation as a modern singing actor. His singing has taken him to most parts of Europe and new cities are always on the itinerary. Also a highly appreciated oratorio and concert singer he is equally comfortable in baroque and contemporary repertoire. His linguistic skills have made him a name since he happily tackles any language modern or classic: from Latin and Russian to Swedish, Dutch, German, Italian, Danish, Norwegian, Czech or French.

After many years in London he is now working for De Nederlandse Opera in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Though the base is currently in Amsterdam he is still working regularly in England and Sweden.
