Carlo is the founder and managing partner of CT Associates, a policy and strategic advisory boutique based in Rome. He spent over ten years in the investment banking business serving, among others, Goldman Sachs and Barclays Capital.

In particular, he focused on sovereign credit analysis, advising governments and large institutional investors. Carlo's financial background is preeminently focused on structured credit, credit derivatives, complex securitizations and distressed debt.

He's been involved as a consultant and expert in designing several legislative proposals with regards to non-performing-loans in Italy.

Mr. Torino expertise is mostly used by governments, banks, as well as hedge funds. Specifically, in designing tailor-made complex financial structures, respectively to optimize their public finance objectives; or their investments return target (particularly within constrained regulatory frameworks).

With asset managers and alternative credit funds, Carlo also acts as a political-risk advisor, helping them hedging specific legislative, geopolitical, and regulatory risks. Essentially, by performing commercial diplomacy vis-à-vis high-profile institutional decision makers.
