Carlo Gaid

Cagayan De Oro City, Philippines

Carlo’s passion for photography started a few years back before he finished his degree in Development Communication. He was first introduced to photojournalism and eventually became a photojournalist for The Crusader Publication. He found it a wonderful and gratifying experience to capture moments as they happen and tell the story. Photojournalism became his first love.
A little way down the road, he met wedding photography and he couldn’t get enough of it since then. The couples in love, the attractive decorations, and simply the blissful air around weddings were the inspiration to his work. He found true love in wedding photography.
For the past few years, Carlo had been shooting happy couples, sweet debutants, and cuddly new born babies. He was happy being a wedding and lifestyle photographer. Clients are at ease as they are told to smile and pose in a particular way; Bridesmaids pretend to zip the bride up, the debutant blowing the candles. The shots always turn out perfectly, but eventually for Carlo, something seems to be missing: the element of reality. He realized he wanted to tell stories, and not to create them.
And so a year after graduating from college, he had this crazy, yet brilliant idea, the ideal set up; his first love and his true love in one. Carlo decided he’s going to be a Lifestyle and Wedding Photojournalist. Happy couples and sweet debutants never change, but capturing only the real moments make a big difference; real smiles, real tears, real moments, make real stories.
