Ing. Carlos Cantonnet

I am a System Engineer with more than 20 years of experience in the software industry. My current position is VP of Technology at Overactive. Previously I worked 5 years at Endava and 10 years in Tata Consultancy Services - UGDC (Uruguay Global Development Center).

I had worked in multiple positions in the software industry like consultant, architect, designer and developer of software-intensive large-scale systems in the U.S., Canada, India, Spain, Chile, Mexico, Argentina, and Uruguay. Has gained experience in various technology platforms, development methodologies, frameworks, agile management and various domains such as social security, health and banking.

Professionally my specialization is in software architecture field, performing various architectural evaluations for global TCS customers. I had lead several high performance teams such as the Center of Excellence in Web technologies for Latin America (WebCoE) and the Software Architecture Group TCS Uruguay.

I have participated as guest speaker and engineer lectures, panels, public events and several Universities. It has also led various technical seminars for the development departments of public and private institutions.

In the academia, I am an Associate Professor of Software Engineering for the Engineering Faculty at Universidad ORT Uruguay and Professor of Software Architecture. Have more than 10 years of academic experience, directed several thesis projects and participated in research projects that involve university and private companies. I had conducted in various subjects, workshops, refresher courses and electives of specialization at university level.

I have been honored by the Faculty of Engineering of the Universidad ORT Uruguay with the Academic Excellence Award for 2007.
