My inspiration comes from my experiences in life. Before I became a full-time artist, I worked in the software industry for twenty years. So a situation like a computer being hacked or infected with a virus, or a conference call dropping the connection, fascinates me. I have not seen anyone else paint these 21st century high-tech situations. High-tech is so ubiquitous, so much a part of our daily lives, and so unique to this century, that I believe it deserves to be explored and painted.
Because science and computers are my favorite themes, I tend to use highly saturated acrylics and a lot of computer parts and geometric shapes, which I feel go very well with the subject matter.
My goal is to create paintings that attract you with beauty and color, but also keep you looking for a longer time with their details and texture. And my perfect painting is that which in addition ignites an interesting conversation.
