Carlos A. Walton is a man of many accomplishments. Besides being crowned the 1st Pan-African King which involved touring parts of Africa, this educator has done extensive work within NYC's school system and variouscommunities throughout the inner cities of America. Putting to use his Bachelor's degree from Hampton University and his Master's degree from Cambridge College, Mr. Walton founded APEX, African People Exalting Inc. and has served as the executive director for over 10 years. This award winning, youth development program has serviced young men throughhis Manhood Training initiative which focuses on target groups of young male students, aiding them in their transition from boyhood to manhood. He has also served this community through his college prep programwhich includes monthly workshops throughout the school year, and a 7-day, college tour from New York to Atlanta, Georgia. This experience offers APEX students the opportunity for on-the-spot acceptances and a level of exposure, education and support like many young people have never felt before.
Mr. Walton has provided quality mentorship for hundreds of young menin the New York City area. Outside the classroom, he exposes them toBroadway shows and fine dining further broadening their experiences.Mr. Walton has created a pipeline from the inner city housing projectsof Brooklyn, NY to Morehouse College, and beyond. His experienceas a certified math teacher, dean and intern principal, coupled with histime spent on Brooklyn's public access channel, as a talk show hostfor 'Youth On The Move', as well as a long list of national and internationalspeaking venues, has all afforded Mr. Walton the ability to also conductpresentations which enlighten, inspire and motivate audiences to strive for something better. He is one who has clearly mastered the art of 'constant elevation'.
