Carlos Kramer

Above all, I am a designer. My specialty is Interaction Design, an approach that, in a macro level, is concerned with new products, services and ways to mediate human relationships, and, in a micro level, is focused on the behavior of these products. In other words, interaction designers should be able to design a new communication tool, such as a next generation Skype, or new ways to organize some aspects of urban chaos, like a system to make traffic smarter, or even a non-material game to entertain children in school recreation, maybe, who knows, a variation of hide-and-seek.

I believe Design is more than UX. Although UX is an extremely important thing to consider in a project, design is about creating or improving solutions to human problems, what is more than ensuring user satisfaction. I personally know some satisfactory, enjoyable and easy-to-use products that fail to succeed when simply do not solve any necessity or elementary human problem.

Of course, by "problem" and "necessity" I understand not only material questions, but also emotional and communication needs, questions related with our works, our social relationships, our lives. As you probably have seen, I love to talk about Design. If you also want to talk about it, drop me a line: [email protected]
