With more than three decades of experience in the legal profession, Carlos Loumiet operates as a partner in the international law firm DLA Piper, based in Miami. In this capacity, Carlos Loumiet handles the development, acquisition, and sale of banks and other financial institutions. He also represents clients involved in infrastructure projects in developing regions of the world and manages joint ventures in the Caribbean, Latin America, and the United States.
After earning a bachelor of arts from Yale University, Carlos Loumiet attended Oxford University as a Marshall Scholar. He completed his juris doctor at Yale in 1978 and returned to Oxford to complete a master of arts in 1981.
Prior to his current position, Carlos Loumiet served as co-chair of Hunton & Williams’ international practice and as chair of its Florida Business Group. Earlier in his career, he led the banking and international practices of Greenberg Traurig, P.A. He maintained his association with Greenberg Traurig for nearly two decades, functioning as a principal shareholder for 12 years.
Throughout his career, Carlos Loumiet has garnered numerous awards and accolades. In 2004, Hispanic Business Magazine named him one of the 100 Most Influential Hispanics in the United States. He has also been recognized by the Who’s Who in International Business, the Wall Street Journal, and South Florida’s Best Lawyers, among others.
