Carlota Távora
Translator, Interpreter, and Teacher in Lisbon, Portugal
From the time I could speak, I did it in both Portuguese and English. I learned to read at the Anglo-American International School of Moscow. I came of age somewhere between Hong Kong Island School and became a contributing member of society at Marymount Manhattan College in New York city, where my career began in the Public Relations Sector.
Back in Portugal since 2001, English has been at the core of all my job descriptions - as the Assistant to the Director of Development of the American International School of Lisbon, the Personal Assistant to the Country Manager of Jones Lang LaSalle, Portugal, the bi-lingual Content Developer for Design Resorts websites, and as the in In-house Translator at Abreu Advogados, one of the most internationally driven law firms in Portugal.
So the work I deliver uses terminology that is not only correct, but that is contextualized and fluid
