Carl Prather

Lubbock, Texas

Carl is a junior project management major in the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University. He is also pursuing a minor in construction engineering from Texas Tech. Carl has two years of experience as a general laborer in residential wood frame construction, and is looking to gain commercial construction experience by working alongside a superintendent or a construction project manager in a summer internship. Carl enjoys leading small groups, managing projects from start to finish, and seeing that projects are completed in a timely manner above and beyond the expectations he is given on paper. Carl loves being outside, working with his hands, being knee deep in the project as it is taking place, and making sure that everything is progressing as efficiently as it can. Carl believes in leading by example. He is known by his co-workers and supervisors for being one of the hardest working employees at all the jobs he has held, and will take initiative to ensure that when he is on the job, task accomplishment will be maximized. He enjoys seeing his co-workers succeed, and coaching them on how to take initiative themselves in order to maximize their productivity level. Carl expects to graduate in the spring of 2015, and to begin a career in the commercial construction industry as a assistant construction project manager or construction superintendent.
