Carl Sheperis
Carl Sheperis, Ph.D., NCC, LPC, ACS, has dedicated himself not only to pursuing his own education, but to helping others further their knowledge as well. After graduating with a B.A. from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania in 1989, he moved quickly into postgraduate schooling in counseling. Dr. Sheperis earned an M.S.Ed from Duquesne University in 1994 and obtained his Ph.D. in Mental Health Counseling at the University of Florida in 2001. Since 2001, Dr. Sheperis has continued taking university classes in a number of subjects, including psychology, media, and gerontology. In keeping with his position as Director at Behavioral Research, Assessment and Training Services LLC, he has also completed courses in assessments in educational and related settings as well as in family public policy. In 2008, Carl Sheperis served a 600 hour internship in psychological assessment. Carl Sheperis works to educate school personnel and families through conferences and workshops on a variety of topics related to mental health and behavior issues. Groups that have sought his expertise for presentations include the Mississippi Department of Human Services, the Mississippi Licensed Professional Counselors Association, and Mississippi State University. Dr. Sheperis has also lectured to organizations based in Florida and Pennsylvania, in addition to appearing at meetings with wider audiences such as the Head Start National Conference and the National Assessment Conference of the Association for Assessment in Counseling and Education. From 2009 to 2011, Dr. Sheperis served as the Director of Doctoral Programs at Walden University’s School of Counseling and Social Service. In this position, he was responsible for facilitating students’ educations by supervising faculty performance, developing curriculum, and championing for program operations. Carl Sheperis also directly advised doctoral students and oversaw dissertation committees during this time.
