Carl Woog

Carl Woog leads global communications for WhatsApp, the world’s most popular messaging platform serving over two billion daily users. He built the communications team from scratch and is a member of the WhatsApp leadership team responsible for product development, public affairs, marketing, and business strategy. Carl joined WhatsApp from the White House where he served as Director of Communications for the National Security Council in the final year of the Obama administration. Prior to that he held senior communications roles at the Pentagon as an advisor to the Secretary of Defense. He represented the United States military on the record and on the road traveling to over fifty countries.
