Carl Yacoub

Dr. Carl Yacoub completed his pediatric medical training at the State University of New York in Syracuse. He completed residency and fellowship training in General Neurology and Pediatric Neurology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. At Thomas Jefferson Hospital, Carl Yacoub MD participated in the transition to Jefferson’s Comprehensive Epilepsy treatment facility and worked with a world class multi disciplinary team which performed long term EEG monitoring in preparation for epilepsy surgery. During this time in training Dr. Yacoub participated and led in clinical research in the areas of Autism, Landau Kleffner Syndrome, and Critical Illness Polyneuroapthy. These disciplines are still an area of prime concern for Dr. Yacoub and as a result Comprehensive Neurology is actively dedicated to the treatment, research, management and eventual cure for these disorders.

In Delaware Carl Yacoub has participated in the teaching of residents and fellows in emergency medicine and worked as an Attending Physician at A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children and the VA Hospital in Elsmere. At the VA Hospital Dr. Yacoub ran both the Epilepsy and Migraine Clinics as well as the Dementia Clinic in the hospital’s busy nursing home facility.
Dr. Yacoub obtained board certification in Pediatrics.

He is a board certified Neurologist with Special Qualifications as a Child Neurologist.
He is also specialty trained and experienced in disorders of sleep, muscle and nerve injury, epilepsy and behavior disorders.

Since completing training Dr. Yacoub has served Central Delaware and the greater Wilmington area and established Comprehensive Neurology Center as Delaware’s alternative to large group neurology practices.
