Carly Byers
A member of the Public Relations Student Society of America, Carly Byers aims to grow professionally by promoting positive communication and learning as much as possible about her craft. At the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at The University of Georgia, Carly Byers pursues undergraduate studies in broadcast news. Byers has won many honors during her academic career, placing first in a public relations competition that placed her team against other groups of students. Byers and her team earned accolades, working with a conservation agency based in the nation’s capital to start a blog focusing on environmental issues that resonated with students. As a Senator in the Student Government Association, Carly Byers attended meetings to form policy and preserve students’ welfare. Along with her contributions to the university community, Carly Byers assists her sorority, Alpha Omicron Pi, as Social Chairperson. As a student at Milton High School in Alpharetta, Georgia, Carly Byers assisted various community organizations. She ensured that survivors of Hurricane Katrina received needed clothes, assisted with an Red Cross blood drive, and found prom dresses for girls in foster care. In addition to participating on the Local School Advisory Council and City of Alpharetta Youth Council, Carly Byers served on the homecoming court. She also stayed active by running track.
