Carly Dybka
director of communications in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Hey there, I’m Carly. I am currently a Director of Communications at the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission. I have extensive experience in digital communications, complemented by experience in public environment analysis, POR and stakeholder consultations. You can learn more about my work by visiting my LinkedIn page (link above).
I completed my PhD in Communication at Carleton University in January 2024. My dissertation examined how Government of Canada communications branches conduct, use, and perceive of social media monitoring in public environment analysis. Research was supported by an application of critical data studies and public administration theory. It also included an analysis of monitoring in relation to GC privacy and communications policies. While they are minimal, you can follow my academic outputs at https://carleton-ca.academia.edu/CarlyDybka.
I have taught for several years in Carleton's Faculty of Public and Global Affairs, in both PAPM and Communication programs.
My professional interests include digital public engagement, social media monitoring, detection and analysis of disinformation, and digital and data privacy. I am happy to present or be consulted on any topics relevant to my areas of expertise.
