How did it all start?
A self-proclaimed DIY-er, I began learning HTML in 2012 with a Head First HTML book. My husband had been working at home as a contract web developer and was swamped, so I decided to learn a few skills and try to help out. I discovered that I actually enjoyed the integration work I was doing for him, so I took classes at Mesa Community College for Computer Information Systems to help solidify my learning.
My first real experience began in 2013 as a contract front-end developer for LAVIDGE. The fast paced agency culture felt like trial by fire because I had so much to learn so quickly, but I love the environment and am hugely grateful for the opportunity to do a variety of work for several different client sites.
I've continued working with my husband on projects including the Soilworks website, as well as others. I also contracted on a project for Sitewire, another local marketing agency.
When I'm not working...
I like to be outside. This year I've taken up golf, and I love hiking and gardening. Traveling through Europe, and planning trips is one of my favorite things to do. The beautiful buildings, changing cultures, and the amazing public transportation that zips you from place to place calls to me.
