Hey y’all! My name is Melissa Edney Newman. I was born in Asheville, NC in the late 70’s and originally moved to Mount Pleasant in December of 2000 after graduating with a B.S. in Business Management from East Carolina University. I began my career in Charleston on Rivers Avenue at Ferguson Enterprises in June of 2001 selling all things related to plumbing, lighting, and appliances. I was given opportunities to travel the US and visit multiple manufacturing facilities such as MTI, Subzero, Thermador/Bosch, and speak directly to the manufacturer’s representatives regularly, staying current on new kitchen and bath trends. After we purchased a home here and settled into the Belle Hall community, I started to work again. I worked shortly as a Permit and Warranty Coordinator for Manorhouse Builders of SC. During that time an opportunity arose to work with Eastech as the Project Coordinator/Designer. I realized I liked and needed to be with people more than warranty work and permits could allow so I made the switch. At Eastech we built amazing homes in Park West, Dunes West, Hamlin Plantation, and Rivertowne. Subsequently, I was honored to have the opportunity to work for a luxury builder, Phillip Smith General Contractor, as the Client Coordinator for custom luxury homes in Sullivan’s Island, Isle of Palms, and Captain’s Island on Daniel Island. I am now selling real estate because it encompasses many areas I already have a strong background in and will allow me to fulfill that love of helping someone with their most personal space, their home. This has always been a passion for me so finding you the perfect home is not something I take lightly.
