Caroline Newman

Hey there! I am Ms. Newman and I will be your teacher this semester! This website is just to give you some insights in to who I am.

I am from Columbus County, but moved to Wilmington in 2019. I graduated from West Columbus High School (where I later taught for 7 years).

After high school I went to UNC Pembroke where I double majored and played softball for four years. Being a collegiate athlete and double majoring is tough, but I love a challenge! I originally planned to attain my Nursing degree, but soon decided it was not the career I wanted. I changed my major to Biology. Soon after, I added my second major- Exercise and Sports Science with a concentration in Health Promotion. In my last two years of college I was tutoring my teammates and classmates and I really enjoyed it. I decided then that when I graduated I would give teaching a try. I'm so glad that I did because I know I was born to teach!

My favorite thing about teaching is that I get to meet and be apart of your life. Now before you call me corny and stop reading, hear me out. I love diversity... in every sense. I love how every human being looks and acts different. I love that every human being thinks differently, has different interests and has different talents. How boring would it be if we were all the same? Also, how much trouble would we be in if we all had the same talents? Because I'm telling you right now you DO NOT want my artistic talents (or lack there of). I can't even draw a stick figure. Getting back to the point, I'm so interested in getting to know YOU: your interests, talents, ideas, etc.

I have two beautiful dogs! Tucker is 9 years old and Rue is 1. Tucker is an old soul and Rue is insane. Together they are super fun! You can control Tucker's every move if you have a ball or stick. There is really no way to control Rue (she's insane)... maybe with food.

I love everything outdoors... well almost everything. I could definitely do without spiders. I would rather see a snake than a spider any day. I love camping, hiking, tubing down a river, fishing, and grilling out.

Now that you basically know my whole life's story... I can't wait to learn about you!
