I have a very serious and fast spreading disease that I like to call “Traveler Addict Syndrome”, or TAS. This disease fills me up from my head to my toe and it is something I can’t shake… but I don’t think I want to shake it either. Maybe I’m terminally ill, but I will take this with me to the grave. This is a picture of me in San Sebastian, Spain on one of my travels, and Spain is very much a part of who I am today. The first time I stepped off the plane for my first foreign exchange experience in Valladolid, Spain, you could say that it was love at first sight (cliché, I know). Things are kind of complicated being long distance and all, but we have managed to make it work and lovely Spain keeps me coming back every year to continue our love affair. Being a foreign exchange student has made me into a passionate and fearlessly independent person, for my experiences communicating with others who now feel like family in another language is so special. This love of travelling is extremely contagious, and it seems as though the more places I go, the more places I realize I need to travel to next. My travel bug may have been planted in Spain, but it has since then given me friends in England, Denmark, Germany, Costa Rica, and has taken me quite literally all over the world. Traveling transforms me into my best self and makes me my happiest me. Although born and raised in Austin, Texas, my home is anywhere I can speak another language as well. So, TAS, I hope you’re ready to stick around… we have a long road ahead of us.
