Caroline Odogwu is a multimedia journalist and creative young entrepreneur who was recently selected to carry the placard for Togo in Danny Boyle's stunning opening ceremony for London 2012 in a year that has also seen her nominated as the "Women for Africa Young Achiever of the Year" and winner of a funding award for her new enterprise, "She is You" from Think Big O2.

She started out at 19 as a runner at ITV Granada in Manchester whilst studying for her journalism degree. Now at the age of 24, Caroline has worked as producer, director, production assistant, presenter and actress!

At the age of 21 she personally devised and created the series 'Young Achievers the Next Generation' for Sky channel OH TV. The idea came through the desire to reach out to a younger audience with programming that would inspire further achievement, by showing the personal journeys that young people have taken on the road to success. Piloted in 2011, the programme was well received and has been recommissioned with a bigger budget and production team.

Caroline has set records by becoming one of the Youngest Programme Creators/TV producers in the history of the channel.

Caroline's passions lie in the personal development of young women and in inspiring, and raising the aspirations of young people. Through her work with young people at Mencap, with college leavers in and her dance pupils, Caroline was struck with the huge positive potential within young people which is so often not reflected either in the media nor in the opportunities presented to them. Determined to do something about this, she launched her new Community Interest Company in July 2012, 'She Is You.'

'She Is You' is dedicated to supporting a generation of young women to become positive, influential females in today's society.

Caroline considered it an honour to lead out the athletes and was pleased to represent the young people in our city by volunteering her time and energy for the Olympic Opening and Closing ceremonies. A true case of leading by example.
