Everyone that knows me knows that I love dogs, but more specifically my dog, Stella. My family decided to get Stella after my beagle, Izzy died. At the time, I was very unsure about it because I was not ready to let go of Izzy, and getting another dog felt as if I were replacing her. Little did I know, Stella would completely change my life. The saying “a dog is a man’s best friend” all became so clear to me after I got Stella. In my opinion, you can tell a lot about a person by the way they treat their pets. My friends think it is silly how much I adore Stella and how I quite literally treat her as if she is my child. I truly believe that dogs have had a significant impact on our world as we know it. Their loving, brilliant, and loyal personalities give them such powerful abilities that completely transport human lives, such as working for the disabled, as well as K-9 units. Although Stella is not a service dog, she has definitely impacted my life more than words can describe. When I am sad, she senses it and comforts me. When I have a bad day, I know that going home to her will cheer me up. I constantly encourage people to adopt from animal shelters, not only for the dogs benefit, but because I am confident that dogs have the ability to make people feel lively and loved.
