I'm a former University Dean and Associate Provost, trained therapist, researcher, educational consultant and author. My primary research focus is female self-esteem development among teens. My dissertation "The effects of single gender versus coeducational environments on the self-esteem development and academic competence of high school females" focused on 15 year old girls in the Bay Area where my research findings showed disturbingly low levels of self-esteem across the board. http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/122845

This staggering discovery has led me to further research this topic.

I recently published a book called Girl Talk: Boys, Bullies and Body Image, which is a compilation of interviews with teens girls on the topic of self-esteem while offering an effective and practical system designed to RAISE (Resilience, Attitude, Independence, Self-Respect and Empowerment) teen self-esteem. The book is available through Amazon, Target and Costco. In addition, I run workshops for high schools and organzations interested in building confidence and self-esteem in young women.

My book has been turned into a play coproduced by "Three Girls Theatre Company" in SF. The play premiered in September, 2014. Next performance is August 9th, SF.
