Carol is the Founder of Australia's inaugural Bipolar Research Fund. Establishing the Ian Parker Bipolar Fund was Carol's only way forward to make 'sense' of Ian's suffering and give some real 'meaning' and 'purpose' to his often so 'fractured' life of CSA and later abuse, followed by the eventual diagnosis of severe Bipolar Disorder and the inevitable final tragic day of suicide. The IPBF is dedicated to raising funds for the Ian Parker Bipolar Research Fund PhD Scholarship on behalf of and under the auspices of Australian Rotary Health. Carol is very passionate about helping people; to making a difference in the lives of others for 'change' - by raising funds for bipolar research, extending kindness and empathy to the many who feel they are not being heard in the Mental Health arena and to contribute where possible, toward HUGE changes necessary to be undertaken by ALL Government bodies Globally for ZERO tolerance toward CSA and any abuse issues and violence on ANY level. Carol says it is vital for the wellbeing of all mankind to not only be seen as good LISTENERS but be willing to take ACTION and as a CAMPAIGNER for ZERO tolerance of STIGMA, BULLYING and VIOLENCE TOWARD WOMEN & CHILDREN and the PREVENTION of SUICIDE she is advocating for society to be more tolerant, kind, loving, caring and respectful of all humanity, none-the less than 'our very own children' she says are 'our precious gifts from God' and will become the 'fabric' of the future generations of all nations. *which so often manifests mental health issues in adult life. I urge this world to 'hold hands' and show much 'inner strength' for what we know IS acceptable and lawful behavior and supports healthier minds, bodies and communities - all achievable through research, awareness, education and sheer dedication to 'make a difference.'www.bipolarresearchfund.org.au
