Carolyn Ball
I have just begun a consulting business with Kate Forhan, Management.Vision. We'd be happy to work with local governments and nonprofits on technology needs assessments, strategic and succession planning, HR policy and practices, board management, and grant writing.
I am finishing up my teaching career at the University of Southern Maine, Muskie School of Public Service and prior to that I taught at the University of Maine. I have taught public management classes in organization development and human resources. This gave me an opportunity for me and my students to work with nonprofits and local government on collaborative projects, particularly in HR.
I have volunteered with the Mount Desert Island Historical Society, Harbor House Community Center (Board Member and Treasurer) and worked with nonprofits on development of employee policies.
I have consulted with state agencies, Maine towns and cities, and nonprofits on organization development, human resources (Job descriptions, pay, employee evaluation, personnel policies) collaboration, grant writing and performance measurement, strategic planning, and survey creation, technology needs assessment)
