Carolyn Dughi

Carolyn Cadden Dughi, a veteran gerontology professional, operates as the President of Gerontology Associates, a counseling and consultation firm that assists in educating individuals on the service and care of older adults. As President, Carolyn Cadden Dughi provides training opportunities, program evaluation and development, and collaborative planning for groups, individuals, and organizations that aid the elderly. Additionally, Carolyn Cadden Dughi and Gerontology Associates often advise administrators interested in establishing special care units, such as dementia-specific day programs. A longtime resident of Honolulu, Hawaii, Carolyn Cadden Dughi established her business after graduating from the University of Hawaii. She provides consultation services and training courses based on her formal education and background in counseling. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1989 before pursuing her first Master’s degree in Public Health. Continuing her graduate studies, Carolyn Cadden Dughi received her Master of Education in Rehabilitation Counseling in 1993. Involved in her community, especially working alongside other health care professionals, Carolyn Cadden Dughi served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Alzheimer’s Association’s Honolulu Chapter from 1993 to 1997. From 1996 to 2000, Carolyn Cadden Dughi also operated as a member of the executive board for the Hawaii Parkinson Association. Her participation in these groups allowed her to stay current with the newest practices and developments regarding conditions the elderly often experience. Carolyn Cadden Dughi maintained a dialogue with other public health professionals as a member of the Board of Directors for the University of Hawaii School of Public Health Alumni Association and the Society of Public Health Educators. From 1994 to 1998, she functioned as a Facilitator for a hospice bereavement support group. Aside from her career managing Gerontology Associates, Carolyn Cadden Dughi enjoys spending her leisure time with her five children.
