Carolyn Essex is a community activist and ocassional blogger. She keeps in touch with the general public through twitter and various other social network sites.

Born in Watts, California (LA County) she attended high school at Loma Linda Academy in Loma Linda California. She spent her freshman year at Oakwood College in Hunstville Alabama and then continued her studies in Business administration and Psychology at Cal State University Los Angeles

Carolyn enjoyed a 18 year career in City Government with the City of Los Angeles, Community Development Dept. Community Development Block Grant Application Process Team, Assistant to Chief of Special Investigations Unit – CDD. She also enjoyed many years in the hospitality industry as an Operations Coordinator for Good Nite Inn and Assistant To Skip Hall V.P. of Operations in southern/northern California.

Her public service in politics began in 2007, first as an Assembly District Leader and membership to the Clark County and Nevada State Central Committees.

She also served as the President of the North Las Vegas Township Democratic Club in 2008 and 2009. Other positions in local politics included Communications Chair, Clark County Democratic Black Caucus 2008 - Precinct Captain North Las Vegas, precinct #2362 and Permanent Caucus Chair for Precinct #2362, January 19, 2008 (Nevada's first ever early caucus).

She received political trainning with Emerge Nevada Candidate InTraining, 2008-2009 and she also served on the North Las Vegas Citizens Advisory Committee and appointment by City Councilman Richard Cherchio in 2009.
