About Me

Hello! My name is Carolyn Padfield. I am a student at the University of Florida and based in Gainesville, FL. I am looking for an internship for summer 2025 and am willing to relocate.

Education

I am pursuing a BA in Business Administration with a specialization in Retailand a minor in Economics. Additionally, I am participating in the combined degree program at UF, meaning I am taking master's-level classes and counting them towards both my undergraduate degree and a MS in Entrepreneurship! I will graduate with my undergraduate degree in Spring 2026 and my master's degree in Fall 2026.

Case Experience

  • Business Case Analysis Class: As one of the fifty students accepted into the class a year, I will be spending this semester learning how to effectively compete and win in case competitions by honing my PowerPoint, teamwork, research, and presentation skills.
  • Past Case Competitions: NRF Foundation University Challenge with Burlington Case, Florida Leadership Academy Case Competition with Johnson and Johnson, Warrington Undergraduate Case with the UAA (4th place)

Hand to Hold Manicures

Hand to Hold Manicures is a program that I spearheaded and created this semester with two of my peers. Having been a volunteer musician at nursing homes since my youth, I observed the intense loneliness and depression within elderly residents. I decided to develop some sort of program that would help alleviate these all-consuming emotions and instead provide the residents with a sense of companionship and worth.

After talking with a nursing home support group leader, I discovered that the leading insecurity of elderly women is their hands. As a licensed nail technician, this revelation could not have been more relevant. Thus, Hand to Hold Manicures was born. So far, we have worked with three nursing homes within the Gainesville area to provide complementary manicures to their residents, and are growing our network more every week. This program has taught me the value in being present for others and has truly been one of my greatest accomplishments.
