I'm a writer, author, and editor. I am a consultant for people and companies who'd like help with their content, content strategy, brand, website user experience, or need creative direction to oversee it all.

In addition to my work on websites through my company, Pixelingo, I was on the staff of A List Apart for three years (and published an article there); established (with John Boardley of I Love Typography) Codex, the journal of typography; was editor in chief of Digital Web magazine for a few years; editor in chief of The Manual ( published by Andy McMillan), and am on the little team behind Ligature, Loop & Stem.

My side project is In the Space Between, an experimental, conceptual project where I write not about art, but about my experience of a piece of art.
