Gianna Carrano lives and works between Milan and Barcelona. All the photographs are black and white with the only colored note of the red thread, on the subject of balance and its precariousness, about looking for new ways to explore and reach inner balances. She opened solo exhibition “HANGING BY A THREAD' at Fondazione A2A – Energy Museum, supported by Comune di Milano and Kilometrorosso, the park of science & technology designed by Jean Nouvel. ULTRA SOUND PROJECT realized by SkyRec. Gianna Carrano exposed at the art &design space EntrataLibera in Milan, and at ‘La Torre Art Gallery’. Presented ‘ORT SAUVAGE’ at Spazio Kryptos Materia about garden vegetables photographed as exuberant and sumptuous flowers. Opened ‘TUG OF WAR’ solo exhibition at Garage Milano Gallery, about the complex interplay of opposites, about the ambiguity in the identity of the positions. Installation 'Black mirror with red rope'.
Gianna Carrano participated on MILANO PHOTOFESTIVAL 2011 – She writes and photographs on the web-site magazine and blog Coolmag on matters of custom cinema&culture. She has published two books of short stories ‘TIED STORIES’ and ‘IL NAMORO’ for the art publisher ed.Severgnini and realized the poster and theater program for A.C.T.I – Independent Theaters- Città di RIVOLI.
