*Carribean is a writer and artist from South El Monte, CA. Her fiction and journalistic pieces have been featured in national and international publications, online and print. She is also founder and co-director of the South El Monte Art Posse (SEMAP), a multi-disciplinary arts collective with her sweetheart and toddler. SEMAP currently runs a column on KCET Departures about the San Gabriel Valley, called “East of East.”
