Carrie Abernathy

Carrie Abernathy, CMP, CEM, CSEP is a young and upcoming professional in the meetings and events field. Carrie has a wide range of experience, having worked within government events, corporate meetings, and most recently in association event management. Carrie is proud to sit on several boards to include the prestigious Green Meetings Industry Foundation. Carrie was most recently named an Association TRENDS Young & Aspiring Association Professional and Emerging Green Planner of the year by PCMA’s Capital Chapter. She was also named to Association Forum of Chicagoland's inaugural "40 under 40" class.

Carrie decided to start CAbernathy Consulting, as she realized the missing gap in the events market for planners to work with CVB's to produce FAM (Familiarization) trips that really appeal to planner needs. Her excellent relationship building skills have allowed her to tap into multiple event partners and vendors to produce top-notch events. Carrie also understands what it is to be a true "partner" in the events industry, and puts together several "CAbernathy Connections" events to connect event planners with vendors. It is Carrie's goal to find up and coming meeting professionals in the field and connect them with potential business partners and mentors.
