Growing up as a farmer's granddaughter, I saw first hand the hardwork, determination and struggles that came with operating a working farm. My father farmed for most of his life, and between milking cows, collecting fresh eggs, orchestrating the 'pig pen', bailing hay, harvesting the vegetables and machinery, (just to name a few)... I learned the dedication and frustration behind a farmer's life. Without farmers, where would we be today? or in the future? Produce, beef, poultry, our survival, our nutrition, depends on small farms to thrive - not just in the present moment, but to give our children's children, hope.
