My name is Carson Soliday and I ate cheese pizza for the first time last year. Yes, I was 19 and had never tried the famous greasy slice of heaven. I was deathly allergic up until I was eighteen, lacking the ability to devour delicious mac 'n cheese and ice cream. It wasn't as bad one would think. I had never eaten dairy therefore didn't know what I was missing. The only downfall of my allergy was the embarrassment at birthday parties and sleepovers when I would be the girl ordering a cheese-less pizza or the one in the corner with her dairy-free cupcake. People thought it was funny, that I ate pizza with just sauce and carried a small container for my singular cupcake. Everything changed my senior year of high school when I decided I wanted to get allergy tested once more. To our surprise, it had miraculously disappeared. The doctors were shocked. They had told me if the allergy wasn't gone by the time I hit puberty it would never go away. My world was turned upside down. I went crazy eating crepes, chocolate, cheetos, and cheese. Now I eat whatever dairy I want.
