Elise Caruthers

Tallahassee

I am Elise Caruthers, I will graduate from Florida State University in May 2013 with a Bachelors of Science in Media Communications Studies and a minor in Hospitality Management. I currently am a trainer at Tijuana Flats Burrito Co. and have been with this company for two and half years. I worked my way from a front of house server, to my current position as a trainer. As a trainer I am responsible for training new employees and continuing their progress as a front of house workers. I help in organizing and implementing new codes and cleaning duties. As well as maintaining the standards and moral of the store.
I aspire to work in the not for profit sector. I previous held an internship at The Children’s Dream Fund in St.Petersburg, FL. I worked with the events coordinator, planning, executing and summarizing the fund-raising events. I created marketing material, handled sponsorship packages and donor relations as well as event details. The largest event I planned was the annual Rays on the Runway, a fashion show hosted by the Rays wives to benefit The Children’s Dream Fund. Learning the logistics, public relations and volunteer protocols was beneficial. I gained a lot of experience in this position, and hope to find a job with a similar description. Working with organizations such as The Children’s Dream Fund allows you to do with more with your career. Knowing you are giving back to others and your community is quite rewarding, and hope to continue this with my future career.
