Carylanna Taylor
Filmmaker, Writer, and Anthropologist in New York, NY
Hi! I'm Carylanna. My parents named me after by grandmothers, "Carol" (who helped raise me) and "Anna" (who I never had the chance to know).
I'm an anthropologist and filmmaker.
I grew up in a small steel town in southwestern Pennsylvania...until I answered a newspaper article recruiting Rotary exchange students and moved to a seaside town in Chile.
Over the past thirty years since, I've spent my life exploring other cultures in the U.S. and Latin America.
The candid picture above is of research participants in Honduras, enjoying a mini-vacation on a hot summer day.
Since 2012, I've been applying anthropology through filmmaking.
Please check out my work, including a trailer for my first feature, ANYA, at www.firstencounterproductions.com.
