Hi, my name is Carynne and I am a student at THE Ohio State University.
My top 5 StrenghtQuest strengths are: futuristic, learner, positivity, harmony, and developer. I would say the best traits from that list that best describe me are positivity and developer. I am someone who always tries to see the best in a situation when all else goes wrong. Even when my own life is a mess, I like to be able to pick other people up and just show them that everything is going to be okay. I believe that a positive mindset can have tremendous outcomes on your actions and lead you to a brighter future. I am also a strong developer; I like to make things happen. However, sometimes I can be stubborn with this trait as I usually like things to go my way. I like to mentally plan things and follow through with that plan.
Hopefully these traits will help guide me to my dream job of becoming a physical therapist. In the future I wish to work in a children's hospital and help kids become stronger and happier. I want to be able to either help kids with disabilities or help those coming out of surgery who need to retrain their muscles. Both my parents work in a children's hospital and I believe that had a strong impact for me because I do not see a hospital as a scary place, I see it as a loving and helping place. I enjoy interacting with people and I think a physical therapist is a great job for doing so because they get to work with patients and watch them grow and improve over time which is beyond satisfying. If I can achieve my dream job, I will never have to truly "work" a day in my life because I will enjoy every day of it.
Leaving Ohio State to find my dream job will be exciting yet sad at the same time. As only a 1st year in college so far, I am already in love with this school. I cannot imagine myself going anywhere else at this point. There are so many amazing things offered through the school, including all the fun traditions we have here. My favorite one so far would probably be the Mirror Lake Jump that happens the week the football team plays *ichigan (our school rival). Tis event happens in late November so keep in mind it is freezing cold, and the water is even colder. The student body waits until late at night and then everyone jumps in the lake. The atmosphere was so exhilarating and it was fun to watch the school all come together as one for the love of football. I can only hope that I get to do it again in my upcoming years.
