Caryn West

Actress/Director/ Acting coach Caryn acts, teaches, coaches and tapes many professional actors bicoastally.

She recently won the 2014 Conn. Critics Circle award for "OUTSTANDING FEATURED ACTRESS IN A PLAY" for Sonia in the Tony winning play "Vanya & Sonia & Masha & Spike" by Christopher Durang ( our cast at the right on the April 2015 AMERICAN THEATRE magazine) and that included nominations for many fine actors working this season at Hartford Stage, Long Wharf, Yale Rep, Goodspeed Opera etc.

She guested in the 13/14 season of "Grey's Anatomy" (premiere episode) and on "NCIS" 11th season . In 2014 she shot a principal role in filmTHE JOKESTERS and is featured in the indie feature I DO which is now On Demand.

She has taught at her own studio CARYN'S SPACE FOR ACTORS since 1999 in West Hollywood IN NYC since the late 80s and many other schools and graduate acting programs as a guest lecturer or part time faculty.

She attended the much coveted DIRECTING WORKSHOP FOR WOMEN at American Film Institute, has a Stanford University B.A. and a MFA in Acting from Temple.
