Joshua M. Eaton p.k.b. Ca$h Mattik was born in Palmer, Alaska, August 24, 1983. Due to the big oil boom in Central California, Eaton’s father (Sam Eaton), found work in Coalinga, California. Growing up as a single child Eaton grew up in our local communities of Coalinga, and Armona. He attended Pioneer prep school in Armona, California for one year but continued Jr. High and High school in Coalinga. He graduated Coalinga High school in 2002. He moved with his father to Spokane, Washington, for one year but returned to California to attend college. As a young child of the eighties, Eaton was immersed in the early Hip-Hop culture. He wrote his first song at age 12 inspired by his life struggles. At a very young age Eaton struggled with depression while being surrounded by drugs and alcoholism as he searched for the meaning and purpose of his life. Through his high school years Eaton kept a private journal which he wrote several songs and stories full of both fact and fiction. Eaton became obsessed with trying to better his craft and held the formation of rhymes to a science. Listening to influential artists growing up combined with his hunger to advance his skills lead to a social awakening and realization of Cash Mattik to spread the word around the world that there is talent here in the central valley. His driving motivation is to show that anyone can make it no matter where you from, and to hopefully save and enlighten one person while sparking a desire to succeed when they feel like hope doesn’t exist. Eaton claims he will never stop writing music or pushing himself to be better because he realized he has nothing to lose and everything to gain and anything worth having in life is never easy. Eaton’s main goal is to create a record label in the music industry.
