At only 18 years old, I have changed the lives of many, but I've also changed my own life.
I have a strong passion for sports, which is including tennis. Tennis helped me through my stage of depression along with helping my body stay in shape and not in pain. With Fibromyalgia it is very hard to keep up with my body, but tennis helps remain out of pain.
I have to say one of my greatest experiences has been raising a guide dog. I raised my dog, Lacey, the senior year of high school before going off to college. Lacey changed my life by making me more responsible and organized. She then went off to a college student in South Carolina. Meeting her new owner Brianna made me realize how fortunate I am to have what I have.
I also have other volunteer work along with the Guide Dog Foundation. For example St. Charles Hospital, Police Explorer Program and Vacation Bible School for the past five years.
I guess one could say, volunteering is my life.
