Cassidy Garcia

My name is Cassidy. Some people call me Cass, others say Cassi, the rest take the time to say my full name. I basically respond to anything beginning with the "Ca" sound.

I grew up in the farming community that is Rehoboth, Massachusetts. When I tell people where I live I'm already expecting the question "Where?" to follow. Sometimes I just skip the Rehoboth part altogether and say "I live in a small town right outside of Providence". This avoids many questions.

Choosing to go to UMass Amherst was a pretty easy transition for me because Amherst is yet another cow town. Driving up to school for freshman move in, I felt like I had never even left my little Rehoboth (despite the two hour car ride) and this was a very comforting feeling. Choosing to be apart of the Isenberg School of Management was an even easier decision based on the business school's credibility alone.

Although my background includes a very rural setting, I love the busy world of retail and everything involved with it.

This past summer I had the experience of being a retail manager intern with Target and it made me fall even more in love. I have always known that I had a thing for shopping but I never imagined the process behind it. My internship allowed me to go deep into the foundation of a MAJOR company and really see the steps to how every single operation in the store worked. I am truly grateful to have had that oppurtunity and hope to keep expanding my retail knowledge!
