cassie dixon
Calgary, AB
Born into a humble abode, Cassie grew up in Calgary, Alberta before making her breakaway to Burnaby where she has recently completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications at Simon Fraser University. Particular areas of interest include cultural & broadcast policy, political economy and news discourse…leading to embarkment on an independent study on post secondary institutions & the neoliberal political economy with one of her favorite professors from the School of Communication.
Following the completion of this degree Cassie is looking forward to returning to school in the next year or two, however she is undecided whether to return as a grad student or embark on another undergraduate degree. Eventually she hopes to earn her certification as a Doula, a bachelors degree in Midwifery and a Master’s degree in either Social Work or Communications.
In her spare time Cassie enjoys listening to ‘hipster’ music (as her friends call it), learning about ethical non-monogamy, and making dumb jokes with her friends. Cassie has also been featured as Y57’s: Youth of the Month.
Cassie currently resides in Calgary where she works as the Events Coordinator for the Student Recruitment Team at the University of Calgary.
