Cassie Malmquist

Cassie is a second year Lighting Designer in the University of Iowa MFA program. Her most recent design was a modern adaptation of The Imaginary Invalid at UIowa and Deathtrap at Western Oregon University. Later this year she will have the opportunity to design for a graduate dance thesis concert, Pocket Full of Sand, New Play Festival, assist on Makeover and work on Book Wings.
Other work at the University of Iowa includes You Lost Me, Mold, Dust and Ash, and The Cost of a Goat – all new works – as well as The Shape of Memory in the Collaborative Performance concert for the dance department, and assisting on Spring Awakening, She Stoops to Conquer and Lady M. Before coming to Iowa, Cassie designed A Streetcar Named Desire at Pentacle Theatre in Oregon as well as Proof; I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change and a senior thesis dance concert at Western Oregon University. Cassie received her BFA in Technical Theatre from WOU.
She also had the opportunity to intern at Oregon Ballet Theatre and is excited to continue working on dance while at the University of Iowa.
