Ruby Castaneda

My name is Ruby Castaneda, I grew up in the suburb of Franklin Park and attend Monmouth College as a sophomore. I'm a double major in Bilingual Elementary Education and Spanish. During the weekends, I volunteer to be my local church's choir coordinator.

There is nothing I enjoy more than spending time with the people who care about me and being outdoors. Horseback riding, hiking and playing music are only some of my favorite hobbies. I plan to travel to as many countries as possible.

As the oldest of three children I love spending time with my younger brothers. I serve as their role model and hope for nothing but the best for them and their future.

I will forever be thankful for the Golden Apple Foundation. It has given me the opportunity to meet amazing scholars who share the same passion as I do and allows me to do what I like best; teach.
