Catalina Vivancos

Hello everyone! My name's Catalina Vivancos Sánchez, but friends call me Cata. I am a medical student in Barcelona, city which I honestly love and where I have been living lately, although I am from Mallorca.

I do love Medicine, and I actually think people should be much more informed and educated about health issues. That's why I just started a blog, called MediKate. Making science and knowledge opener and collective will probably be an important key in the future of medicine.

When it comes to talking about hobbies, I have to say that my biggest goal in life has always been to travel a lot. I love sharing moments, opinions and points of view with people who has grown up in different places. Two years ago I had the opportunity of living for a month in USA, because I got Benjamin Franklin's Transatlantic Fellows scholarship. There I met people from different countries, people which I consider now my friends. That was an unforgettable exerience. Also, I have been to different countries in Europe, and hope will be in a lot more.

But, what always is in my mind, wherever I am, and whenever it is, is my dream of travelling to Africa. I really like the culture and it would be amazing to volunteer in different countries there. It's a place where I have always wanted to be, and I really wonder how life is for african people, and the differences existing between countries. It's something I just can't imagine, and I would like to see it real.
