Whatever the goal, Catherine will navigate the complex and diverse social media universe to identify and seize the best opportunities available. Since joining Solomon McCown in 2005, Catherine has built solid relationships on behalf of clients with key bloggers, tweeps and online communities across sectors. She regularly leads client teams in developing strategies to use social media with a manageable, controlled and results-oriented approach. She addresses stagnant websites by conceptualizing the structure, drafting copy and making recommendations for updates that will integrate social media, increase traffic, ease utilization and enhance compatibility for print and broadcast journalists. Catherine also plays an integral role in messaging, thought leadership and media relations, particularly for the firm’s mission-focused clients. Since 2008, she has been involved with SM&’s team of coaches for the Social Innovation Forum and maintains relationships with several past innovators. Catherine received her Bachelor of Science from Boston University’s College of Communications and took courses on Public Administration while living in Paris. Previously, Catherine served as an advocate for organic farmers and professional foresters in southeast India. While living there she also provided communications support for numerous environmental and social entrepreneurs.
