Caterina Giannottu
Designer, Art Director, and Consultant in Roma, Italia
I have started my life with a paintbrush in my hands.
I spent the majority of my life painting, drawing, shooting and then drawing, painting and drawing again.
I feel paper, ink, brushes, camera as an extension of my hand.
But... my professional story as a freelance is a real adventure, and I wish to tell you, very shortly, here.
Because I have learned everything following masters and mentors, not classes.
Actually, first I've studied Humanities. I am BA and MA in Cultural Anthropology and Fellow in Cultural History. For few years I have researched in few places in Europe. I've published papers, chapters in books, essays. I wrote more than two thesis, in more than two languages. I speak English, French, Italian and a bit of Spanish and Romanian.
Then, as in every respectful tale, something happened.
I stopped.
I've opened my mind and discovering new way to be myself in professional life. I've understood I need to integrate Humanities, Creative Inspirations and Art Inspiration, possibly creating things, images, colorful products. Possibly realizing visual "things" for people.
I re-born as Brand Designer. And a modest self-taught photographer.
I have designed logos, pictograms, illustrations, packaging, stationery, ebooks, catalogues, identities.
I have worked as Art Director and Curator for exhibitions and happenings.
I shoot spaces, people, nature, events and few fashion stuff.
I create everyday now.
And I am happy.
And my works are really happy too.
I wish my eyes could take photos.
