My number one StrengthsQuest was patience. I was not surprised when I found this out. Over the summer, I am a day camp counselor for 4 year olds. I definitely think it is very necessary to have patience when spending the entire day at the beach in the blazing hot sun with a group of 20 energetic 4 year olds. My intended job, a kindergarten teacher, further verifies this quality I possess. Patience, again, is definitely necessary when working with young children all day long.
Similar to the StrengthsQuest, the wellness and dimensions assessment accurately described my emotional, career, social, spiritual, physical, financial, intellectual, creative, and environmental wellness. It helped me understand and be able to relate myself to other students at Ohio State as well. I honestly answered a few questions about myself and got results back according to my answers. Both times these assessments have been fairly accurate descriptions of who I am as a person. I think these assessments have helped me learn more about myself and verify the type of person I am.
My favorite tradition is The Mirror Lake jump. Since 1969, students have jumped into Mirror Lake around midnight on the Thursday night before the annual football game between The Ohio State University Buckeyes and University of Michigan Wolverines. This is a huge tradition at Ohio State. As any tradition is, Mirror Lake Jump brings together a sense of community to the school. I think the Mirror Lake tradition is unique in that it is something that each and every diverse student can join in regardless of of anything such as interests, age, etc. The entire student body comes together and participates. These everlasting traditions that includes the entire student body are, what I feel, the most impacting ones.
