Catherine Booth-Selby

Catherine is currently in her third year at the Birmingham Conservatoire on the Vocal and Operatic course studying under Cathy Benson. During her time there, she has performed in many of the productions, including the role of Lady Ellington in Offenbach's 'La Vie Parisienne' and most recently, Sister Felicity of the Faith of Rome in Poulenc's 'Les Dialogues des Carmelites'. Catherine has a particular love for early and English song and in June 2013, was a finalist in the Edward Brooks English Song Prize, as well as performing in a masterclass with Lyndon Van Der Pump.
Catherine has also been a member of various choirs including the Liverpool Philharmonic, Preston Cecilian and CBSO Chorus. These have led her to performing at venues such as Preston Minster, the Bridgewater Hall, Symphony Hall and the Royal Festival Hall with artists such as Bryn Terfel. Before her time in Birmingham, she spent a few years as a member of Preston Gilbert and Sullivan Society, where she won a NODA for the role of Casilda in 'The Gondoliers'.
As well as singing, Catherine has a love for teaching and currently teaches for Stagecoach Leamington Spa and Solihull. She will be taking private pupils from Summer 2014.
Catherine is available to sing at events such as weddings, christenings, dinners etc. and will tailor a package which would be specific to any clients' wishes and specifications. [email protected]
